What is a trade licence?
A trade licence is a document/certificate that authorises the applicant (someone wishing to create a business) to engage in a specific trade or business in a particular area/location. It ensured that business or career was conducted by all safety requirements established by the State Municipal Corporation. It safeguards residents against health dangers. However, the licence prohibits the holder from engaging in any other trade or activity than the one for which it was issued. Additionally, this licence does not confer any property ownership on the licensee.
The Application Procedure
Step 1:
Open the BBMP's internet portal, bbmp.gov.in, on your browser.
Step 2:
Click the 'Trade License' tab.
Step 3:
Navigate to Online Trade License (For Public).
Step 4:
Read the terms and conditions and agree to them, then click Continue.
Step 5:
. After that, one must select the fiscal year for which the subsequent trade renewal application is to be generated; if this is not done and one enters the previous fiscal year, the following step will display a message with the warning, "Kindly pay 2016-17 trade licence tax before proceeding with the current fiscal year," so please enter the correct fiscal year.
Step 6:
The applicant must then pay for the current fiscal year's trade licence via online payment methods.
Step 7:
You will be prompted to input the application number from the prior year.
Step 8:
Once an applicant is confirmed, the current application number will be generated for the renewal procedure.
Step 9:
Following that, the current fiscal year's payment must be made. If the applicant selects the previous fiscal year (for example, 2016-17), a notification will appear stating, "You have paid for 2016-2017; Kindly select 2017-2018 for your Trade License renewal."
Step 10:
To pay for the current fiscal year, one must input the previous fiscal year's trade licence application number.
Step 11:
If the applicant input the application number correctly, he will be able to view all of the application's details and will be required to confirm them.
Step 12:
Once the renewal application has been confirmed, a renewal application number will be generated.
Step 13:
After obtaining an online renewal application number, the applicant must pay the trade licence tax. He can do so by selecting the appropriate payment gateway and pressing the Proceed to payment button.
